An Everyday Miracle

Editor’s Note: This post was submitted to me by a friend of a friend. It is written by a midwife who works in Bath, UK about her personal experience of a recent birth.
An everyday miracle happened today,
Baby, born at home, the old fashioned way.
A miracle happened and nobody saw,
‘cept partner and midwife who looked on in awe.
You see birth just happens if left undisturbed,
No poking or prodding or being observed.
Just trust in the process and loving support,
From a midwife who knows you, and what you have brought,
To the altar of birthing, a most holy place,
Where maids become mothers in peace, and in grace.
A miracle happened, believe me it’s true,
And believe it or not, it could happen to you.
Just trust in the process, in love, and in birth,
So women and babies can bring peace to earth.
